The widening/repair work at Panthyal is going on and efforts are afoot to make the NHW worthy for two-way traffic. However, keeping in view over all condition of the road, plying of two-way traffic on the NHW is not feasible.
As such, subject to fair weather/ good condition of the road and clearance from Traffic Control Units, only one way movement of traffic shall be allowed on the NHW on 07.05.2017. Under the said plan, movement of traffic shall be allowed from Jammu towards Srinagar side in a regulated manner. Movement of LMVs/passenger vehicles shall be allowed from Nagrota (Jammu) from 0400 hours up to 0900 hours and from Udhampur up to 1000 hours. It shall be ensured that precedence is given to the hassle free movement/ safe passage of vehicles carrying Darbar Move employees. However, the movement of HMVs (excluding Trailers/multi-axle vehicles) shall be allowed from Nagrota (Jammu) only after tail vehicle of the Darbar Move convoy crosses the said location safely. Strict implementation of the directions shall be ensured for effective management of traffic on the NHW.
No movement of any sort of traffic including convoys of Army, BSF, CRPF, ITBP, SSB etc. shall be allowed from Srinagar towards Jammu side on 07.05.2017 under any circumstances in order to avoid traffic congestion on the NHW.
