Jhiri Mela
Jhiri located 20 kms. north of Jammu-Poonch highway is famous for centuries old mela, held every year during kartik purmima (eorly atumn full moon) usually falling in the month of october-november. Lacs of devotees throng this historic village to commemorate the martyrdom of Bawa Jitto – A former who gave up his life in protest against the oppressive & unjust demands of the ruling feudal lord about 500 years ago.
